Who and how to be screened for Cervical Cancer?

Cervical cancer is a cancer that affects the cells that line the inside of the cervix (the lower part of the uterus). The cancer is most often caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV), but it can also be caused by other types of cancers. Cervical cancer is the most common cancer in women in the United States, and the fourth most common cancer in women worldwide. It is also the second most common cause of cancer death in women. Cervical cancer is usually diagnosed when it has already begun to grow in the cervix.
